Interesting facts about Grenada:
1) There is a lake in Grenada, Grand Etang, which is said to be a bottomless lake because nobody has been able to find its bottom with sonar. The lake was formed over a dormant volcano.
2) It is the home of the world’s first underwater sculpture park, with more than 80 statues submerged under the ocean for divers to explore.
3) There are three types of cocoa in the world, and they all grow in Grenada. At Grenada’s House of Chocolates, you can taste the delicious chocolate goodness that has been freshly made from the cocoa grown right there on the island.
4) There are majestic leatherback turtles nesting on the beaches, and zero venomous snakes in the forest!
It sounds like an absolute paradise for tourists.
And one last interesting fact, for the trade mark lovers amongst us…
The Madrid Protocol entered into force with respect to Grenada this week, on 15 March 2026!
What does this mean? It means you can add Grenada as a subsequent designation to your international trade mark registrations now. Many of you would not export to Grenada, so the ability to extend the protection of your international trade mark registration to Grenada may seem irrelevant.
But, for some of you, who sell diving equipment, or swimsuits, hiking gear, sailing gear and the like, there may be a market for your wears amongst tourists that have not packed all their needs for their trip.
The majority of Grenada’s goods are imported from the U.S. but Australian businesses can also look to Grenada as a possible export destination too now.
